With spring in the air, it's the April Friends of Brockwell Park fundraising car boot sale. Come along, meet the neighbours and buy some stuff (9am to 1pm, Lido car park, Sunday 8 April). We are open to the public from 9am. There's a refreshment stall and free parking in Dulwich Road. Sellers arrive from 7am, first come first served (no advance bookings): £12 per car; £15 per van.

Many birds migrate to southern England during the winter months in search of milder weather and berries to eat. Join us for role-play and exploration to find out how birds survive the winter. Make your own binoculars and spot birds in the gardens. Make a bird feeder to give our feathered friends a helping hand. We will also have a selection of bird nests and a bird skull for you to investigate!

BLU is organising a community led Cold Water Gala in November 2018, together with Streamline Swims and other local community groups. We welcome volunteers to assist with the planning and in helping us make this event a great success for Brockwell Lido. Enthusiasm and an ability to work in harmony with our other community groups is a must. Entries for the 2018 Windrush Aquathlon are now open! As always, places are expected to go fast (they sold out well ahead of the closing date last year), if you don't want to be disappointed, enter as soon as possible. Entries close on 24th May 2018, or when sold out. The race itself is closed to traffic, taking place on 24 June in Brockwell Park, with the swim in the Lido and the run section around the park.
The water will be delicious for this year's Swimathon at Brockwell Lido, taking place over the weekend of 28/29 April. Swim as an individual or in a group, you can even choose your own distance. There's a challenge nosubhealth.com for everyone. Enter Swimathon 2018 and join Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie to raise as much money as possible for two causes close to the nation's heart.
The Lambeth Country Show will return to Brockwell Park on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July 2018, boasting a unique line-up that celebrates the very best of the city and countryside. With over 150,000 people attending throughout the weekend in 2017, the show is one of the biggest family public events in the UK.
Please join us for a partner event with the RSPB's local group. Meet 6am (yes, you read that right!) for a special walk around the park's birds, led by local RSPB experts Czech Conroy and Graeme Hutchinson. Meet at the Herne Hill Gate entrance to Brockwell Park. The gate will be opened temporarily for this event although please note that the other park gates will still be locked until around 6.30am. Please bring binoculars with you, if you have them.
In association with the South London Botanical Institute, for the first time, Brockwell Park takes part in the annual plant survey of the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland. Meet at the Clock Tower at 11am on New Year's Day.
