BIODIVERSITY VOLUNTEERING AT POND 3

Our last biodiversity event for 2025. We'll build dead hedges for land animals to lie low in over winter and damp refuges for frogs, toads and other amphibians to shelter in.
We'll also be digging out some of the invasive sedge and bramble roots as well.

You don't have to be there throughout - turn up at any time from 10am: we'll finish between 1:30 and 2pm.

Tree Celebration 6 July 2025

Our Annual Tree Celebration was held in the presence of Cllr Adrian Garden and many of the tree donors. It was followed by tea at Brockwell Hall kindly donated by Charlie who runs the new cafe.

Bat Survey Walks

Experience Brockwell Park's nightlife...we're talking BATS!

Come and help Friends of Brockwell Park (FOBP) monitor bats in and around the park on Saturday 5th July, with a second date planned for Saturday 19th July.

The walk will last about 90 minutes, stopping at 12 points in and around Brockwell Park to observe bat activity with a bat detector. Dress for the weather and bring a torch - red light if you have one.

The National Bat Monitoring Project (NBMP) supports volunteers conducting yearly field studies of bat populations across the country.

Brockwell Park Midsummer Plant Hunt

Interested in exploring the wild flowers of Brockwell Park?  Click the link above for South London Botanic Institute's (SLBI) summer’s evening walk led by Roy Vickery.  It costs £5 - part-proceeds to FoBP.

Roy is a retired botanist, past President of the South London Botanical Institute and author of Vickery's Folk Flora. Roy regularly leads walks on the themes of botany and folklore.

Car Boot Sales – Summer 2025

Welcome to the Friends of Brockwell Park fundraising Car Boot Sale, a series of beloved local community events held in the Lido car park each Summer. Come along, meet the neighbours and buy some stuff (9am to 1pm). We are open to the public from 9am with free entry for buyers.

There’s free parking in Dulwich Road. Sellers arrive from 7am, first come first served (no advance bookings): £10 per car; £15 per van. This Summer the car boot sales will be held on

New Year’s Day Wild Flower Hunt

Location: Clock Tower, near Brockwell Hall

The Annual New Year Wild Flower Hunt will take place in Brockwell Park with Roy Vickery from the South London Botanical Institue (SLBI) on New Year's Day.  Meet at the Clock Tower near Brockwell Hall at the top of the hill. The hunt will last for 60-90 minutes, finishing at the Herne Hill entrance to the park. Organised by the South London Botanical Institute. 

Bird Walk (FOBP & RSPB members only)

Location: Meet at the Herne Hill main gate

New to bird watching or a committed twitcher? Come along to the Brockwell Bird Walk on Sunday 13th April starting from the Herne Hill gate at 6am. Spaces are limited so sign up at walks.brockwellpark.co.uk - please note this walk is for FOBP and RSPB members only and is limited to 35 people. More info from volunteer@brockwellpark.co.uk. Meet Czech Conroy and his colleagues, who will be your guides to the Bird Kingdom - they are all local members of RSPB's Central London Local Group.   The walk will take up to 90 minutes with some places over grass, so please come in suitable footwear and bring binoculars if you have them.
